5 Million Cell Limit in Google Sheets Now Available

Great news: Google Sheets now officially supports 5 million cells.

This update was announced back at Google Next ‘18, but was just recently made live for everyone.

Ben Collins shared the news in his weekly newsletter on Monday. The new limit is confirmed on Google’s Support blog under file limits:

Spreadsheets: Up to 5 million cells for spreadsheets that are created in or converted to Google Sheets.

Tiller is updated our Size My Sheet add-on, which counts the cells in your Google Sheet and provides a nice graphical representation of your spreadsheet’s remaining capacity. It’s a handy sidebar add-on to help you know your limits so you don’t hit that wall.

Now you can enjoy a little – or a lot – more breathing room in your Google Sheets applications.
