Tiller is seeking a skilled and creative Personal Finance Writer to help drive our content strategy and establish Tiller as a leader in personal finance education. This part-time, contract role will focus on creating high-quality, definitive content that engages and educates our audience while driving organic traffic. You’ll work closely with our marketing team to develop an editorial calendar, write in-depth articles, and contribute to our ongoing thought leadership efforts. Key Responsibilities
- Develop Editorial Content:
- Collaborate with the team to create a strategic editorial calendar focused on unique, engaging topics.
- Write and edit high-quality, definitive articles that establish Tiller as a thought leader in personal finance.
- Ensure content aligns with Tiller’s brand voice and goals.
- Research & Insights:
- Conduct in-depth research to uncover new, valuable insights in the personal finance space.
- Analyze trends and consumer behavior to produce relevant, timely content.
- Content Optimization for SEO:
- Apply SEO best practices to maximize organic search visibility and drive traffic.
- Update content regularly to optimize for SEO
- Monitor performance metrics to continually refine and optimize content for search ranking.
- Content Distribution & Collaboration:
- Publish articles and content on Tiller’s website using WordPress.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote content through various channels, including social media and email.
- Tiller Money Memo:
- Write and curate content for the Tiller Money Memo, a regular email sent to engage and inform subscribers.
- Ensure that each edition provides valuable insights and actionable advice for readers.
Qualifications
- Proven experience writing about personal finance, with a strong portfolio of published work.
- Deep understanding of personal finance concepts, particularly related to budgeting, saving, and using spreadsheets.
- Proficiency in SEO best practices and content optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with WordPress for content publishing.
- Excellent research and analytical skills to generate fresh insights.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, polished content.
- Bonus: An existing user and advocate of Tiller’s products and services, with firsthand experience of the brand.
