Hi, I’m Heather from Tiller. In part four of our “Getting Started with Tiller” video series, I’ll walk you through the Tiller Foundation Template for Google Sheets and Excel.

Introduction to the Foundation Template

The Foundation Template is a collection of pre-built financial sheets, including:

  • Spending trends tracker
  • Debt payoff planner
  • Monthly and yearly budgets
  • Balances and net worth sheet
  • Sheets for storing transactions and categories

Note: The Microsoft Excel version is identical to the Google Sheets version.

Spending Trends Sheet

  • Provides a quick overview of your money for selected time periods
  • Shows net worth based on connected accounts
  • Displays total income and expenses
  • Customizable date range for insights
  • Signals data that needs categorizing
  • Allows drilling down into specific groups and categories

Transactions Sheet

  • Stores all transaction data
  • Allows modification of descriptions and dates
  • Enables sorting and filtering of transaction data
  • Used for categorizing transactions

Accounts Sheet

  • Customizes how accounts appear on the Balances sheet
  • Allows grouping of accounts (e.g., checking accounts, credit cards)

Balances Sheet

  • Shows organized view of accounts based on Account sheet groups
  • Provides overview of net worth

Monthly and Yearly Budgets
