Tiller Money is the first of Envestnet | Yodlee’s licensees to launch open banking data sharing to provide customers with a secure way to access bank data without having to share usernames and passwords.
Envestnet | Yodlee, a leading data aggregation and analytics platform, makes it possible for Tiller Money customers to grant read-only access to their Citi transactions and balances directly from the Citi website through an application programming interface (API) data exchange.
Now, when Citi account holders give Tiller Money permission to access their data via Citi’s open banking API, this tokenized “handshake” between Envestnet | Yodlee and Citi will provide the most secure and reliable way to access their updated financial data, while giving users full control and transparency over the sharing of their information. Envestnet | Yodlee and Tiller Money plan to roll out open banking access for Tiller Money customers with a number of top banks in the coming months.
This announcement signifies one of the first opportunities for individual consumers in the United States to access the benefits of open banking. “We chose Tiller Money as our first third-party application partner to launch open banking because of its high levels of customer engagement and retention.” said Luke Sieling, Customer Success Manager of Envestnet | Yodlee. “Open banking offers great opportunities for collaboration, while delivering a more seamless, safe experience for end users.”
“Our open banking partnership with Envestnet | Yodlee is a huge win for both our customers and the personal finance industry, and tightly aligns with our values at Tiller Money. We have always focused on empowering our customers through offering them unique control and management of their finances, in a secure and private way,” said Peter Polson, CEO of Tiller Money. “Now with open banking, our users are fully in control and able to securely manage the data they share with their Tiller Money spreadsheets, directly from their bank website.”
